Garden Description: Paulmead garden has an acre of lawns, herbaceous, shrubberies, a stream, pond, summer house and tree house, set in a valley with 4 acres of field and beech hanger which can be used by visitors.
The house can take groups of up to a dozen. Individuals are welcome for personal retreat space. We can provide over night accommodation for 2 people.
Judy leads Quiet garden days with other regular members assisting. She has experience in retreat leading and spiritual direction.
Over the years groups and individuals have come here for restorative space, and for creative working. We can offer a sitting room with a fire, a summer house, a tree house, a guest room; access to loos and kitchen; a beautiful garden, heavenly walks; a listening ear, cups of tea, homemade bread… for an hour, for a day, for a night … Just ask. We can then see what fits peacefully into the diary of this family home.
We have hosted groups of up to 50 in the garden from gardening associations, but for times of quiet reflection 15 would be a maximum suggestion. The garden has wheel chair access and there is parking for up to 8 cars in the drive.
Availability in 2017
Due to a building project in the garden in 2016 and 2017 we have been meeting and issuing dates as we go along since we are not sure how much disruption will take place. Anyone interested joining us can get in touch to find out more. We plan to continue the quiet garden community through and beyond the building project.
