In February half-term Cathy Davie, host of Mossrigg Quiet Garden in W. Yorkshire, opened her garden to run ‘Found space’. The idea was to provide a mix of active and quiet, indoor and outdoor activities exploring, reflecting and responding to creation. A journey of discovery for all ages and stages of life and belief.
As part of Quiet25 we gathered in London on Saturday 20th May 2017 to celebrate 25 years of sharing Quiet Gardens.
We, of course, celebrated with cake. We also marked the retirement of Revd Philip Roderick as Founder-Director. The Quiet25 Fund was launched to sustain and grow the future of the Quiet Garden Movement, a Flower Garden Quilt Raffle was started… And we heard from some outstanding speakers, including:
- Rev Dr Andrew Walker (Director, St Marylebone Healing and Counselling Centre, London) on ‘Prayer and the Art of Gardening – exploring the parallels between the garden and spiritual life’
- Revd Lucy Winkett (Rector, St James’s Church, Piccadilly) on ‘In Quietness is Strength? How can we rediscover the wisdom that hides in quietness and silence?’
