The present house was built by New England Planters in 1761. The gardens surrounding the front of the property reflect this heritage with an Acadian potagere then a more formal garden reflecting the English influence. The garden for the remaining property emphasises Nova Scotian artists with sculptures in stone, iron and wood. The flora reflects my late husband’s respect for the land and his interest in landscape architecture. There are two sunken gardens, a small pond in an enclosed area, a diversity in small trees and a variety of garden seats and benches. Rock walls surround the property reflecting my husband’s profession, geology.
