Garden Description:

Old Kea Church is situated in a remote location yet it is only 3 miles from the city of Truro. The small building is set in the grounds of the original Kea Church location at the head of a creek on the Carrick Roads where it is said that Saint Kea, a late 5th century British saint, arrived on a boat and built a monastery. A church was built here in the 15th century of which only the tower remains alongside Old Kea Church which still holds services to date.

Over the last 3 years a team of volunteers from the congregation of Kea have developed the garden into a space for people to come and enjoy the peace and tranquility the little church and garden have to offer. It has recently been awarded a certificate for completing the Kernow Green Church Award. You will find places to sit both inside and out to enjoy this very special place.

The church is always open, as is the garden. There is disability access to the church and lower garden. Parking is in the large area by the barn on the road just before you reach the church. Please Note: the road is a dead end and there is no turning beyond this point.

The toilet and kitchenette is only open upon request when it is being used for organised events such as church services. If you wish to use Old Kea as a resource for an event such as a quiet day or retreat please telephone to organise. There is a small charge for electricity and water etc..
