Garden Description:
Marian Dunlop House in Dorchester is the headquarters for The Fellowship of Meditation. The enclosed walled garden is situated at the rear of the house, accessed by a level gravel pathway. It is divided into two areas: a patio area with seating that overlooks a lawned area, accessed by a pathway leading to a lawn with our ‘Words of Life’ sculpture from natural slate embedded as a central feature of this area. It symbolises the Fellowships testimonies of Beauty; Freedom; Goodness; Grace; Health; Holiness; Joy; Knowledge; Life; Wisdom; Truth; Substance; Strength; Righteousness; Principle; Power; Light; Peace and Love.
The garden is surrounded by mixed herbaceous borders containing rose bushes, perennials, annuals and other interesting artwork. The summerhouse (seating nine people) is situated in the corner of this lawned area although there is also other outdoor seating available.
