Display Board Project
Many Quiet Gardens are in public spaces, such as church yards and community gardens. These type of Quiet Gardens are a dedicated space open permanently to the public for prayer, reflection and rest, providing people with an easily accessible outdoor space for wellbeing and the inner journey. This project aims to encourage and support users of these Quiet Garden spaces with display boards that welcome them and resource them with prayer and meditation practices, as well as introducing the wider work of the local group running the Quiet Garden and the Movement.
Provide high-quality display boards, for permanent and temporary use, that share the story of Quiet Gardens and invite people to use the space, equipping them with prayer and meditation practices to use in the Quiet Garden. The boards will include both a printed prayer practice and simple prayer for people to use themselves, as well as links to audio resources and prayers, and contemplative practices that people can access via a mobile phone.
In our busy world space for silence and prayer outdoors are much needed, and the benefits for our wellbeing and spiritual journey are many. But many people find prayer, meditation or mindfulness practices hard to access in their day to day life. These display boards will enable Quiet Gardens to provide a welcoming and supportive resource to people who visit these publicly accessible spaces. They will also point to the wider welcome of the local community and church running the Quiet Garden, as well as support services and the wider Quiet Garden Movement.
Publicly accessible Quiet Gardens will be invited to join this project and contribute to the costs of producing and installing the display boards. We are seeking funding to develop and manage the project, design the boards and resources, and the proto-type production of the display boards.
We want to design the content of the display boards and develop the resources, as well as produce a proto-type of the display boards.
To do this we need to raise around £7000.
If you would like to support this project and make it happen please consider making a donation, adding a note that it is for the Display Board Project. We will ring-fence these donations and use them to make this project happen.
