The Chapel gardens are right in the heart of Kendal and yet, approached through a ginnel, they are quite secluded and peaceful. They are greatly loved by natives and visitors alike, who come to see the flowers change through the year and in April to see the magnificent magnolia tree, planted in 1946, which is then a mass of pinkish-white blossom. Through an arch in a stone wall is the Multi-Faith Garden of Remembrance, an especially quiet corner, where people like to sit and rest from the bustle and troubles of life outside.
