Garden Description:
Hirfron is a smallholding in rural Mid-Wales, dedicated as a quiet place of prayer, creativity and welcome. Our ‘garden’ is five and a half acres of woodland and pasture, with a no-dig kitchen garden and polytunnel, bee-friendly courtyard garden, young orchard and wild flower meadow.
Our water comes from a hill spring, and in a move towards more sustainability, we have installed ground-source heating for the house and barns.
Our way of life combines the care of Hirfron with our work of prayer, through a rhythm that holds together the sacredness of place and everyday tasks with prayer offices, meditation, reading and the creativity of spinning, weaving,
painting and model railways.
You are most welcome to stay for a personal retreat, (Monday to Friday, for 2-5 days), in one of our two restored barns. The smaller Stable Barn has a twin bedroom and the larger Hay Barn has a twin and a double bedroom. Both
barns are self-contained with a kitchenette and en-suite facilities. If you would like to come for a quiet day (Monday-Friday 9-5) either on your own or with a small group, please enquire. The invitation is to step aside for quiet space with
the option of joining us in our contemplative rhythm indoors and outside. This might be for times of prayer and meditation, working in the kitchen garden or the art studio, or you may choose to spend the time in solitude. There are
quiet sitting places with views over the Dulas valley and longer walks in the surrounding Cambrian hills. Spiritual accompaniment is available on request. In conversation and in quiet, in work and rest, in the beauty and wildness of
creation, our life here is always enriched by those who join us!

Saturday Dec 3rd was an emotional time as this was our first home when we married.
But also a special Spiritual time as we appreciated the silence and awareness of the Lord’s presence with us.
We say thankyou Tessa and Mark for creating such a space for reflection and renewal. May the Lord continue to bless you as you serve Him in this way.
