Garden Description:
Helen has registered with the Quiet Garden Trust as a retreat leader. She leads quiet days or residential retreats at various locations upon request, and can also offer occasional small group or individually guided (IGR) retreats at Rosedene, her own garden.
Rosedene is also available for individuals who would simply like to use the space for their own quiet reflection and prayer. It is a 3-acre former orchard and meadow, which is now part wild and part cultivated. There is a flower garden amongst the fruit trees, a sizeable veg patch, a wild wooded area of old fruit trees, and a former meadow edged by a belt of trees. It is not a manicured garden, as Helen manages it organically for wildlife as well as the veg, fruit and flowers. Nearby are circular walks along the local riverbanks, and the cycle track linking Ely to Wicken/Anglesey Abbey/Cambridge.
She is a spiritual director, a tutor with Cambridgeshire Courses in Spiritual Direction, and a member of the Society of Retreat Conductors. Although admitted as a Reader/Licensed Lay Minister with the Anglican Church, she stepped back from this role a few years ago and now worships in the Methodist Church.
