The Quiet Garden is a small garden at the side of the Sherwood Methodist Church which provides a quiet space and a place for reflection away from the busy main road through Sherwood, Nottingham. There is a small paved labyrinth, mosaics made as community projects, upcycled planters made from palettes, a bug hotel, various nest boxes, a wild flower area, benches where people can sit, including one underneath a willow arbour which gives shade. Creative plantings provide colour in the garden all year round which is managed by a small group of volunteer gardeners.
Visitor information
The garden is used by the church for events and informal services and is also enjoyed by the local community. Since 2017 the garden has been awarded the Green Flag award and the RHS Britain in Bloom ‘It’s Your Neighbourhood Award’ recognising gardening achievement, environmental responsibility and community participation.
Opening times
It is open for everyone to use whenever they like, 24 hours a day.
