Eglwys St Michael Llanfihangel

Its simplicity reflects the open wildness of the mountain on the slopes of which it stands, where animals graze freely and late summer displays glorious purple heather.  There is a warm welcome and a sense of profound stillness in the church and surrounds where, tucked away, you will find our field labyrinth;  a place to just be or walk reflectively. You will always find the church open and are welcome to use the facilities and also help yourself to refreshments. There is a small pool where you can place your prayers in the form of pebbles.  The pebbles representing your private prayers are placed on the altar during the service and offered to Our Lord. The written prayer requests are always prayed for during our services. Prayers from our Memory Tree are remembered during our monthly Pilgrim Services

Directions

Travelling from Lampeter on the A485, when you arrive in Llanllwni, go past the school and the Talardd on your left . It is then easier for you if you take the turning on the left immediately before the shop painted blue rather than the next extremely narrow lane with the brown sign. Turn left at the top of this steep lane and then as stated above, over the cattle grid and onwards.

You can also access from the village of Brechfa off the A40; in which case go through the village until you come to a junction veering off to the left, take this and travel in the direction of Gwernogle taking a sharp turning right uphill marked with brown sign; follow this travelling upwards for a number of miles and you will find the church on your right.
